Barcode scanner is a device used to read a 4-dimensional codes (called BARCODE) found on most consumer goods products. The use of barcode scanners has two additional advantages. The first will reduce input error that caused computer operator mistakes. Secondly, the use of barcode scanners speed up data entry process, soreducing the amount of long queues.
One of the reliable mode of communication today is a short messaging service (SMS). The implication, one that biases the data communications model used is SMS. That is, the SMS should be able to transact with the database. For it is necessary to build a system called SMS Gateway. In principle, the SMS Gateway is a software that uses computer-assisted and utilize cellular technology that is integrated in order to distribute the messages that are generated through the information system via SMS in the media handled by the cellular network. This paper describes the design and implementation of applications created with the SMS Gateway SMS technology to help in the field of information delivery services. To create a notification system of data transmission services / SMS-based information gateways in use opensource software is Gammu, java netbeans with the MySQL-Server Configuration.
Technology to be used in this study consisted of barcode scanners android, java as a programming language, MySQL as the database, and for SMS Gammu engine. This study describes the flow of reading barcode data as input data to be sent to the server via SMS. And besides that, this process serves to take the data from the server to be displayed in mobile phone.
