ANALISIS DAN PERBANDINGAN KINERJA ROUTER GL.INET DENGAN ORANGE PI ZERO BERBASIS OPENWRT

A B S T R A C T

This problem arises because of the need for the internet with optimal quality management and internet connection functionality. As we know internet service providers such as Telkom (IndiHome), Biznet, Firstmedia, Myrepublic and other Internet Providers do not necessarily have good coverage for the Yogyakarta City region. In addition to network coverage, the second factor is the cost incurred for the convenience of the Internet itself where it will not be relevant to be approved if used with low productivity. Therefore the main solution is to use Broadbrand modem which is combined with the router. However, routers offered in the market today are less relevant to the price offered. As one example is the GL.iNet 6416 router board, this router is in the price range of Rp.300,000.00 - Rp.400,000.00. The speed of the 400MHz processor and Ram is 64MB, the broadbrand modem that we are aiming for is called into question by the barrier making modem performance not optimal in bandwidth problems with data when an Ethernet / Wireless connection is used.

SBC Orange Pi Zero (Single Board Computer) based on the OpenWRT Operating System that is compiled to run optimally and optimally. In terms of SBC prices, it is cheaper than the router in general (for example GL. INet). Seeing the specifications offered by SBC Orange Zero PI compared to Conventional Routers is of course a broadband modem that will be easier to use by the larger CoreClock. SBC can be used by adding a mini blower that is connected to the GPIO board port which will immediately stabilize the temperature and make better hardware components.

With its compatibility with the broader Linux kernel support, even in terms of software, the SBC has surpassed conventional routers with prices for further performance. With good development software we can make this OpenWRT-based SBC router very multifunctional, by installing software such as Samba, as a mini NAS, file sharing, Web Server using Public IP, as a download engine that is very optimal and saves electricity with a 3A adapter .
