Currently the development of information is so fast that it requires internet access. School, agencies and even businesses that operate in various fields have installed internet access facilities both wired and wireless and Mikrotik as their routers. But now there are also some places that don't have user authentication management so this can give just anyone to access the internet through their network, that's why additional authentication system security is needed.

RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service) is a network security based AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting) protocol that is used to manage communication between authentication and network access servers. If there is a client connected to a network that uses a radius server as its security system, before being allowed access to the internet, the radius will ask for a username and password which is then matched with data that has been registered in the database section.

FreeRADIUS is one of the open source applications used in building an external radius server and Radiusdesk as a user management that can be integrated with Mikrotik. With this security system, the authenticated and authorized network traffic will be safe and monitored, starting from the client connection activity, the amount of data transferred and the duration of use.
