A B S T R A C T

As technology develops, computer networks have developed since they were first implemented. Lately, computer networks began to be known as the internet and intranet. The internet is a network that connects all computers throughout the world globally. While intranets are local computer networks. The internet is a network that connects all computers throughout the world globally. While intranets are local computer networks. The more extensive and many devices that use the internet makes traffic more dense and complicated routing. In this case requires a reliable routing protocol to overcome problems in the development that occurs.

RIP and OSPF are part of dynamic routing. Both have the equation which is dynamic routing. But of course one of them is the best. To find out which one is better, it is necessary to do a comparative analysis. In this study applied to the network hierarchy topology with other technologies applied, namely VLAN, STP, and HSRP. The results of the RIP and OSPF routing research show that OSPF routing gets more maximum results compared to RIP. OSPF routing is also superior in the field of delay and transfer speed compared to RIP routing.
