PEMBUATAN VIRTUAL TOUR 360 SEBAGAI MEDIA INFORMASI MUSEUM GUNUNGAPI MERAPI

A B S T R A C T

This study aims to promote and increase the number of tourists in Merapi Volcano Museum, so that the results obtained every day are increasing visitors. Media campaigns that are quite effective in public attention are visual media like billboards, advertisements and brochures, but the media can only display campus environments in 2D. The technique known today as Virtual Tour Photography is a technique that allows to view interactive 360o wide-angle panoramic photos. This technique is able to bring users in cyberspace such as standing tall and in the room.

Virtual Tour application development uses image-based design methods for Virtual Reality (IBVR) applications which consist of 4 stages: Project Planning and Improvement, Specifications of User Needs, IBVR Development and Implementation, IBVR Verification and Validation. The application that produces the virtual tour application can be implemented on websites, android applications, desktops and interactive CD.

The resulting application has fulfilled the characteristics of the IBVR application so that users are interested in full screen display, clear and crisp images with a resolution of 5319 x 2042 pixels, inconsistent hotspots, manual panning, automatic panning, suttle / hope to the next hotspot, zoom in / out . With functionality and ease of use, users will experience spatial presence in interacting with virtual tour applications. Responsibility when panning and zooming in / out smoothly, hotspot hopping requires a little time to load the next hotspot panorama which is 2.8 seconds .
