A B S T R A C T

SMP N 3 Magetan is one of the first high schools in magetan, East Java. Though complemented by a wide range of facilities and a good teaching system, however it is known that the lack of publication against the SMP N 3 Magetan, then that needs to be done from a promotion to introduce SMP N 3 Magetan, expected after the promotion, the number of students has increased for the following years. In this design using model-based design of multimedia as a medium for a promotion, several stages beginning with the idea or concept design. Then the idea of the identification data field and data in the library do the analysis later obtained an information on the the data from the object of research. From the analysis of the data done synthesis which produced a concept design. After the concept of the design is finished then entered on the stage of Pre production, production and post production. This design produces a media promotion for SMP N 3 magetan with mainstream media in the form of television commercials. Television commercials are rated quite fast and informative in presenting information so that it is selected as the appropriate promotional media for SMP N 3 Magetan. The next design is to set one goal among them lifting the quality of existing school diSMP N Magetan 3 as well as design a media promotion by more creative and innovative.
