A B S T R A C T

An expert system is a branch of artificial intelligence that uses a knowledge base that are used to solve the problem at the level of experts / human expert. One application of expert systems in agriculture are used to diagnose the disease. In this research, designing and manufacturing expert system that is used to help diagnose a disease that is known of the major symptoms of the disease of cassava and determine suggestions or solutions to disease in nature.

The uncertainty of knowledge in an expert system is overcome by using the method of Bayesian probability. The process of determining diagnoses in this expert system begins with the consultation session, where the system will ask the questions that are relevant to the user in accordance with the primary symptoms of the disease of cassava.

The end result of this research is an expert system for diagnosing diseases of cassava showing the probability of disease diagnosis results conducted, which shows the level of confidence the system against the disease and suggestions or solutions countermeasures against cassava plants affected by the disease.
